As October came to a close this saw our financial end of year and what a year. We have seen many positive changes in the past 12 months from a refreshed Contract Management structure with the addition of a new role of Site Contract Manager to help support our Contract Managers. This is due to business growth and to ensure our high customer service standards are met at all times.
We have invested heavily in new machinery to offer additional services and ensure our machinery meets the latest H&S requirements. To include two Kubota ride-on mowers, which will allow us to operate more efficiently and improves the aesthetical finish. Two Grillo Pedestrian power units were a great investment as multiple attachments can be put onto the machine and currently we have flail mower attachments for those over grown areas and heavy duty rotovators for harder ground. We will be adding additional attachments this year. Our Grounds Maintenance teams had all their machinery replaced from their pedestrian mowers, strimmer’s, hedge cutters through to their knap sack sprayers and we have seen an improvement in repair and service costs since.
Our Sales Team have also been busy bees and managed to increase our client base substantially over the past 12 months with the addition of 12 new clients within the construction industry. This equated to us been awarded 24 new sites over the last 12 months. All these sites have now started and happy to report going very well.
We are looking forward to what the 2019/20 year will bring and continuing to drive the business forward.
October was a busy month for our Sales Department with 5 new sites awarded. A great team effort by all has secured these contracts and they have all been handed over to our Contract Managers to start implementing the works and liaising with the various site teams.
We are also constructing the Sales Arena and Show Gardens for Hayfields Homes soon to be open new site, Hayfield Place in Silsoe. The doors open on Saturday 9th November for what will be a lovely site and pleased we could assist in the implementation of their Sales Arena.
Our training programme is still going strong and we have two members of our Ground Maintenance Department now trained in herbicide application (weed spraying). They both successful passed their PA1 & PA6 modules with flying colours. Well done Curnal and Thomas.
We attended a new event to PGE in October. Specific is a regular event held across the country to introduce suppliers and new products to architects, contractors and construction industry professionals. Along with world leading speakers within their respective their fields it was a great event to attend and we are now signed up for all their Birmingham events.
