February has been a fantastic month where we have seen the industries confidence post Brexit and the general election filtering through to ourselves.
We have started a large vegetation and tree clearance project for long standing clients, Wavensmere Homes at their soon to be released site Nightingale Quarter in the centre of Derby. We look forward to implementing other tasks on site such as the Stump Grinding, Tree Protection Fencing, Hoarding and some permanent fencing to the boundary of the site.
We have been working from the offset for CALA Homes (Midlands) on their stunning site 59 Lansdown in Cheltenham and they have added Continental panels to the rear gardens along with the below Pleached Photinia’s which we sourced from Italy and installed a total of 36 trees which look stunning even if we say so ourselves.
Our Grounds Maintenance division will be kept even busier than normal with new contracts awarded and existing clients renewing their contracts. We look forward to maintaining Hayfield Homes site, Hayfield Green in Oxfordshire which includes their Sales Arena, Open Spaces, verges and Stock Plots. Bellway Homes have renewed their contracts for Evelyn Gardens near Burton upon Trent and Dove Manor near Ashbourne and decided to enhance the package we offer to add even more WOW to the already impressive site.
A lot of our clients have also add plenty of seasonal colour to their site this month to include hanging baskets, troughs, mangers and an array of plants that will off instant and long lasting colour. This really brightens up the areas and helps fill any gaps within beds. We have also carried out audits on all the Show Homes we maintain to review is any plants or trees have been lost or struggling due to the wet winter and replaced or remediated where required.
Our in-house Customer Care teams have been busy this month and with the amount of rain recently we have seen a spike in drainage issues been reported to the house builder. Headed up by a highly experienced manager Steve Abbotts can assess and ascertain if there is a genuine issue or it is due to the high levels of rainfall the county has experienced in the past 5 months. Below is a typical example of the kind of work we are undertaking on a weekly if not daily basis. Here is a lawn lift and relay we undertook. We excavated 100mm of topsoil out, carried out drainage improvement works before importing 100mm of high quality root zone topsoil and finished with our premium grade turf. Our mantra is to always leave the property we have undertaken work in as cleaner and if not cleaner than before we arrived and that is testament to our teams going the extra mile and working to our high standards.
