PGE Landscaping team at Charity Golf Event

Here at PGE HQ we have had a fantastic month with new clients added to our portfolio. We cannot wait to start work on our first Piper Homes and Redrow sites in the coming weeks and forging a lasting relationship with both fantastic house builders.

PGE Landscaping new contract awards

One of the sites we maintain has been successful and won first place in the Stratford in Bloom Hotel category. Hotel Indigo is in the heart of Stratford upon Avon where you’ll find a boutique hotel surrounded by a wealth of culture and parts of the hotel date back to the 15th century. A huge congratulation to the hotel and PGE team that have contributed to winning the award against stiff competition.

We have started implementing the construction of the Public Open Space at a stunning site called Priors Crescent is just starting in Salford Priors for CALA Homes (midlands. This site will be stunning once the landscaping is implemented and offers a unique opportunity to future homeowners to have a house in a rural setting.

We found September was an extremely busy month for turf laying where we supplied, prepared and laid over 8000m2 of turf. We do like making areas ‘green’

We are always committed to keeping our staffs training up to date and this month is no different. We held a Cat & Genny refresher course over a weekend in September to ensure we could get as many refreshers completed without affecting our typical working week and appreciated our staff taking time away from their families or commitments to attend.

Charity Golf Tournament TrophyWe always like supporting our clients and local charities and September was no different. We attended The CALA Midlands Golf day that managed to raise a huge £10,000 for Solihull Children’s Special Needs Association where we put a strong effort in on the day to come second overall. The second charity event was also a golf day hosted by Workforce Recruitment & Training held at Redditch Golf Club and managed to raise £3,500 for Targeting Testicular Cancer. Again a strong team performance meant we came 2nd out of a field of 26 teams. Well done to all for raising such vital funds.

We have seen two promotions recently and a new Contract Management structure. We are pleased to appoint Lee Cross who has been with the company over 11 years as Assistant Contract Manager. Lee’s primary role is to support our Team Leaders whilst they are on site, sense checking the quality of our materials and workmanship, training, Toolbox talks and spend time with the Site Management teams to ensure we meet the schedules and expectations. We feel this will be a pivotal move for PGE to increase our client relations and driving the business forward.

We also wish to introduce Mauro Nappolini who has been with the company for 4 months. Mauro has moved from ‘on the tools’ to manage our yard which includes stock levels and the range of materials and also assisting with our Grounds Maintenance department.
